FAQs

Q. Tell me more about your brand.
A. Chic & Gold is a Dallas-based brand. We are bringing Pakistani artisanmade accessories to our customers to enjoy and hold onto for a long time. Our shop features hand-embroidered scrunchie+scarf sets and hand-blockprinted accessories. We're also creating local impact in Dallas by working with refugee sewers, who are rebuilding their lives.

Q. How are you making a positive impact?
A. We are consciously creating a brand that cares about craft traditions and supporting underrepresented artisans and workers. We also consciously use biodegradable, plant-dyed material in our accessories, sourced from Pakistan. We are also proud to partner with Dallas-based nonprofit Vickery Trading Company. VTC’s refugee sewers made our hand-blockprinted hair accessories and dust bags (for storing accessories). We also ensure we are supporting small businesses and freelancers in Pakistan and the U.S.

Q. Why should we buy artisan-made products?

A. Supporting artisan-made products means supporting handicrafts that have been passed down generations. You are further supporting artisan communities whose talents and beautiful works of art are threatened by mass production. You are also receiving a product that’s made with love and is high-quality, and if well cared for, will last a long time. And last, but not least, you’re supporting and empowering underrepresented voices in fashion. Here is a good read on the Aspen Institute blog about how artisans empower their communities.

Q. What is your policy on returns and exchanges?
A. Face masks are final sale, and are not eligible for exchanges or returns. All other products are eligible for return or exchange within 30 days of receiving product. Product must be unused, undamaged, and tags must be attached. Email munira@chicandgold.com to start a return/exchange. Customer will take care of return shipping.

Q. How do I care for my Chic & Gold accessories?
A. Care instructions are available on each product’s hang tag. We also sharing care tips here for convenience: Hand wash in cold water with mild soap. As is the case with natural dyes, some color may rub off on skin or other products. Indigo dyed accessories should be washed alone, as the indigo dye tends to rub off on fingers and other products. Avoid direct sunlight. Keep away from products that will stain. Lay flat to dry and store your product in the dust bag provided.
