Chic & Gold is a slow fashion brand in Dallas.
We proudly work with immigrant & refugee sewers in Dallas. We're also proud to work with artisans in Pakistan.
Our hair accessories, scarves and select clothing pieces are gorgeously hand-embroidered or hand-blockprinted by Pakistani artisans. For instance, we work with a third generation blockprinter in Sindh province of Pakistan. He hails from a family of hand-blockprinters. His father was a blockprinter. His grandfather was a blockprinter. His brother is a blockprinter. They're keeping the legacy of this ancient printing tradition alive.
The women behind Chic & Gold are two Texas transplants.
Munira Syeda is an immigrant from Pakistan, while Kristin Reinaker was born and bred in Ohio. Both met in 2021 before the launch of Chic & Gold and since then have been slowly and thoughtfully growing the brand.
We create small-batched products and only work with biodegradable materials.
While we don't have our own team of artisans, we work with artisan partners that care about artisan well-being and pay artisans fairly. We consistently pay bonuses to artisans in addition to paying for their work.
As we grow, our dream is work directly with more artisans, and enable them to make a living wage.
